Here is a little about Kirk.
Kirk West is 44 years old and has lived in the Sacramento area for the past 15+ years. He is originaly from New York, but now calls California home. He is single and active in lots of social activiaties and in our community.
Kirk has been dealing with health issues for the last few years now. He has been battling Ulcerative Colitis since 2001 and has managed it well. He thought he was doing well and had not been to the Doctors for 2 years. Recently, he was admitted into the hospital with an unknown issue, but believed to be related to his illness. After tests, It was found that Kirk has Cancer. He is now in a fight for his life. He was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. It is treatable, and beatable. In the next few days, weeks and months, Kirk will be having major surgery. The 1st procedure will last more than 3 hours and will involve removal of a portion of his Colon. He will be staying in the hospital for about a week before starting his healing. He will have Chemo treatments and further follow-ups over the next few months. He will require daily in-home care by a nurse, at an added cost to Kirk.
So here is the big need.
Kirk has been out of work for the past few months while dealing with his health issues. He has negotiated most of his bills the best he could, but still will have financial burdens. Kirk is a single guy and only has his income (lack thereof while dealing with his health issues) and needs our help. He is going to need help with his bills, car payment, medical bills and day-to-day expenses. Kirk is a very private humble person and has had a hard time asking for help. He, as you all may know, is willing to help anyone at a moment’s notice….He now needs our help. Let’s make sure Kirk only has to worry about getting better and not how he is going to make his car payment.
