J Jeansonne's Medical Expenses

Hey everybody, it's Stacy, J Jeansonne's daughter. I am telling my dad's story today because I don't know what else to do at this point. We will get to that shortly..I would like to start from the beginning. My parents have been happily married for over 40 years. I am the oldest of their two children, with one little brother, Jerico. Two months shy of my Dad's 60th birthday, he was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer that had metastasized to his brain, liver, lymph nodes and hip bone. Our whole entire family was in that doctors office waiting to hear the answer to our most important question. "So how long do you think I have, Doc?" His reply would soon cause 5 hearts to be broken immediately..followed by many tears and aches in the hearts of so many people. "Sixty days." As hard as it was for me to hear those two words..I never lost hope in my Dad. We would pull together and stay strong for him..and I know he refused to give up on us. This devastating news was so time sensitive, so immediately, we hopped into action mode, searching high and low, for alternative cancer treatment methods. We weighed out the odds of how good Dad would hold up doing chemotherapy compared to the success stories we would stumble upon on the internet showing that after alternative cancer treatments, some people that had less than two months to live see many more years than what was expected. Sadly, my Dad decided to go ahead with chemo after realizing just how quickly his health was going down hill. After 11 stents of radiation and weeks of chemotherapy, he was in the worst condition he had ever been in. His breathing was labored, he couldn't go to work anymore, he was going through 4 shirts a night due to sweating compulsively, he lost all of his hair...he was on the verge of losing his life. He couldn't go anymore. Then came the turning point..we were calling a doctor with alternative therapy methods that claimed to have an 86% success rate, compared to chemo's measly 2%. We didn't have anything to lose, after all. Dr. Bautista, from Tijuana, Mexico, explained to my family and I that if he wanted to live, it was imperative that we get the soonest possible flight out to Tijuana so he could start the process. That was in the end of January. Now, three months later, I am very thankful and happy to say that the alternative therapy did work to a certain degree and that my Dad is still here with us! It was a rigorous process with many hurdles to cross while adapting to the culture shock that my family and I faced while in Mexico, but Dr. Bautista and his medical staff, along with many prayers and healing from our Master Physician, Jesus Christ, took most of Dad's cancer away. It is no longer in his brain, liver or his bones. The tumor in his lung which started out as the size of a golf ball had shrunk 20%. We could finally say it..Stage IV no more! He was not going to let the cancer beat him..he was going to beat the cancer. Now that we are back home in Louisiana, there are a few more hurdles left to cross. Therapy ended up being a little more costly than we had first estimated due to the severity of the cancer. Living expenses were reasonable, but not for the amount of time we ended up having to stay there. We had bills back home and more expenses in Mexico than we could have imagined. Yesterday, exactly one week after we came back to the states, I found myself baffled and so sad. My Dad is in a hospital bed in a tremendous amount of pain. My parents went to see his pain management doctor on Wednesday and he looked very concerned when he saw him. He said that he was in bad shape and he needed to go straight to the emergency room. When he got there they advised him that his blood pressure had dropped to extremely low numbers and he was immediately admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Today he is in a regular hospital room but his pain level is really high about 95% of the time. He is also fighting a blood condition and his health seems to have taken a turn for the worst. Still, we refuse to give up. At the end of this month, my Dad will no longer be eligible for medical insurance. The debts we are accumulating due to this battle with cancer has had a crippling effect on my family and our finances. We are beginning to struggle to make ends meet for the first time in decades. I come to you in this great time of need to ask if you could please help my family with this vast amount of doctor bills that doesn't seem to show any signs of coming to an end anytime soon. Any amount would help. We will be forever grateful for your acts of kindness and I would also like to say, I know my Dad is gonna beat this! May God bless you and keep you.
