Bob's Fight Against Cancer

As many of you know, our dad, Bob Schalk, was recently diagnosed with bladder and rectal cancer in the beginning of October. For those of you who don't know him real well, he has been married to our mom, Melissa, for 19 years, has three daughters (Brittney, Paige, and Jordyn), one granddaughter, and he now runs the small family farm that he grew up on. His bladder cancer was a stage 1 and was completely removed with surgery. He's had multiple procedures done already for his rectal cancer and we initally thought it was stage 1. However, after his recent procedure, we found out that his rectal cancer is now a stage 3 and he will need another procedure done in Ann Arbor on December 11th, which will hopefully completely remove the cancer. The countless trips our parents have had to already make from Rogers City to Ann Arbor haven't been easy on them, mentally or financially. This upcoming procedure that our dad needs done requires our parents to stay in Ann Arbor for 10 days AT LEAST, which will cost a minimum of $500 just for the hotel. They also need to pay for gas, food for the time they are down there, and other expenses as well. He will then need to travel in the future back to Ann Arbor for check up appointments after surgery, and potentially chemo in Alpena. Becuase we're heading into the winter season, there isn't any income from the farm right now, which is causing the financial burden on our parents. Our dad is the most hardworking man I know and would do anything for anyone. If you could donate even just $1 to help them out through this troubling time, we would all really appreciate it.
