Dr. Okelo was husband to Margaret Oyuga Okelo (Dallas TX). Father to the late Chris Okelo Ondiek, Carolynne Bole Okelo (Dallas TX) and Owuoth Otieno Okelo (Nairobi). He was brother to Eba Ochieng (Ahero), Prof. Ochong Okelo (Maseno University), Prof. G B A Okelo (Nairobi, former Director of Medical Services) and Ada Were(Kisumu). He was a doting grandfather to Cynthia Nyambogo Okelo and Bill Ondiek Okelo and Father in law to Kezia Okelo all of Nairobi.
