Help for Pretty Boy Floyd - Please share

People who know me will know how difficult this is for me to do. I have used GoFundMe many times to raise money for other dogs through the Daisy Mae Foundation but now this is personal. Many of you know and love my dog Floyd and also know how special he is to me and my family. He has seen us through so much, always loyal and always close. I have always made sure I had enough savings to cover whatever might come up with my pets. I had no idea how quickly that savings could be depleted. Last Tuesday, Floyd suddenly colapsed and we rushed him to the veterinarian. We were sent up to a specialists center in Tacoma, where Floyd was given a grim prognosis with severe splenic bleeding with several "ifs" that we had to overcome to proceed. The first being an Ultrasound that if it showed any masses in the liver, then we should not proceed. The US showed masses in the spleen as expected but the liver looked clear. The next was a clear chest Xray, we were clear so on to the next one which was surgery, however the radiologist would still have to look at it. If the vet got in and found any growths, the right thing to do would be to put him down on the table. Before we could go into surgery, Floyd had to have 2 transfusions and a unit of red blood cells because he had lost so much blood that he no longer had any clotting factors left, he had to have clotting factors before surgery or he would bleed to death, all the time he was continueing to bleed internally. Finally by late afternoon on Tuesday, we went into surgery and there was no evidence of spread of any cancer. The spleen was removed sucessfully but Floyd was still anemic and needed yet another transfusion and packed red blood cells. A biopsy was taken of his liver and the spleen to check for cancer. Floyd had some complications with cardiac irregularities and blood factors which kept him in ICU for 4 days. He finally came home Friday night and has a long road ahead. His chest xray came back clear. We are waiting for the biopsy to come back, there is a 75% chance of cancer but we are hopeful. Like I said previously, I always made sure I had enough to cover expenses but I was wrong. Floyd's total bill so far is $7500 plus which I have been able to cover with savings, a new loan from the credit union and a loan from a friend that needs to be paid back right away. He also has more expenses ahead and an appointment with the oncologist next week to discuss chemotherapy which will run another $5000 to $8000. I just can not figure out how to do this myself which is why I have turned to social media. Floyd has done his part and fought his way through this all the way. He has the will, I need to figure out the way for him. Please share this post with your network just in case there is someone out there who can help. We thank you and appreciate and love all of you. Hold your loves close because you never know how quickly your well organized world will be turned upside down. Thank you.
