Mission Trip to Ethiopia

God ignited a fire in my soul when I was little which allowed me to always be driven to help others. I was the friend everyone went to for help or advice growing up, where I was comfortable being the shadow behind the stars of my peers. I even went into a profession where I am literally just that, an athletic trainer for talented athletes helping out behind the scenes, shying away from praise.

My love for service then lead me even further to teach at two different levels, high school and pre-school,  at the same time. Here God showed me that I have a strength for patience (highly needed might I add) and the ability to find love for each child by ensuring that I try to bring a smile to their faces every day.

One morning as I was sitting at my dining room table reading my daily devotional Unshakable by Christine Caine, God shined a light on what I was meant to do through her words, "injustice and suffering go untended because we are so often distracted, preoccupied with our own concerns. As Jesus works in your heart, ask for inspiration and wisdom for new ways to love His children. That's one thing He will freely give. There is more than enough love to share."

While I let those words wash over me the Holy Spirit whispered in my ear, " You need to go to Africa. You need to spread the word of God and help His children there."  I knew that it was my calling to travel to Africa as soon as possible to specifically help children develop and grow their relationship with God while also building up their community.

That same day I applied for a mission trip through Adventures in Missions for a short-term journey in June to Ethiopia. This trip is focused on bringing joy to Ethiopian orphans and widows but mostly dedicated to children's ministry and community development through encouragement, service projects, and sharing one's faith in tangible ways. (crazy how God leads one to THE perfect path, right?)

After getting accepted I realized that I must raise $3,000 to cover my fight and expenses in order for this dream of mine to happen.

If you are in a position to help me financially I pray that you find it in your hearts to help me get to Ethiopia to start spreading love while shining light on the Word.

I am very excited about how God will use me and what He will teach me on my journey! I pray that I will not only be a blessing to those I serve in Ethiopia but I become a representative of Jesus through this mission trip!
