Hamish...A beautiful little boy who is only 2!
Hamish was diagnosed with AML Leukemia on the 24th of August 2013. After 4 rounds of chemo he was released on New Years Eve, in remission! What a beautiful Christmas present for his family. Sadly Hamish relaspsed late February 2014, every parents worst nightmare. Hamish is currently undergoing 2 more aggressive rounds of chemo and will then recieve bone marrow from his brave big sister Ada who is only 7 years old. This is Hamish's last chance! His parents Dave and Jen can no longer work as they have come to realize that they may only have affectively 3 more months with their little boy. They alternate days staying at PMH to be by their sons bedside to care for him, not ever wanting to leave him alone whilst also raising their daughter trying to give her the most normal life they can.
I try to imagine myself going through this with one of my children, my kids are my life, they are the reason why i am still breathing! To know my friends are going through this is absolutely heart breaking. I have sat back and watched Dave and Jen advertise and sell their belongings to try and get money together to pay for their sons treatment and to survive themselves. The last thing i want to see is them loose their home....which i know they would give up to save their little boy.
