For Paula

Paula is a loving wife, mother, friend, and person overall. She has struggled with chronic pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis for several years and a few months ago she was also diagnosed with lung cancer. Following several  tests and biopsies the doctors decided it would be best to perform a pneumonectomy to remove the lobe of the lung that has been affected by the cancer. Paula had this surgery performed Thursday, January 2nd. During this surgery Paula’s pulmonary artery was severed (likely cut) and she began to hemorrhage. She went into cardiac arrest for 26 minutes. The medical staff worked on her tirelessly to bring her back. They were able to bring her back and stabilize her, but she remained in a drug induced coma for a couple days and following several neurological tests the doctors feel there is no brain function left in her. Chet (Paula’s Husband) is having to make the hardest decision of his life and him, Betty Lou (Paula’s daughter), Andrew (Paula’s son) as well as the rest of our family are in desperate need of all the prayers and support we can get right now. Chet has been by her side continuously. Chet works from home and does not have income if he is not working. He could really use your support right now. Paula is at MUSC Hospital in Charleston and there have already been a lot of expenses that have incurred. Please consider helping financially and through prayers to help lessen the burden of this devastating time.
