Jody and Logan Burned in Drunk Driving Crash
Hi, my name is Kylea and I’m fundraising for our family to help get through these next several months.
On the night of Sunday, August 15th, Jody (my mom) and Logan (my 16yo brother) were in her beautiful pink jeep cruising around Farmington, NM celebrating it getting fixed up. As they were driving up a hill, a drunk driver came up speeding behind and rear-ended them. The jeep went off the road, and though my mom tried to correct and get back, they began rolling and the vehicle caught on fire. They are both in the burn ICU at UCHealth in Aurora, CO.
Both are severely burned, and have a long road ahead of them for recovery. Logan is much worse, but both are now stable. We have multiple surgeries lined up and expect to be in the hospital here for about 3 months. The driver who hit them did not have car insurance.
I started this fundraiser to help cover our family’s bills, medical expenses, food, and any other unexpected circumstances that may come up while they are hospitalized, and then something to keep them going after release before she can return to work.
Every little bit helps, and my mom will donate any excess that remains to another campaign for burn victims, but this is quickly getting very expensive, so any and every bit helps tremendously.
