Dave Needs a Voice

My dear friend Dave Esteve, 38, suffered a brain aneurism this past Saturday, March 29.
This was the day he was brought to Coney Island Hospital and rushed into surgery. He was bleeding into his brain for two days.
I have been in several times to see him as have a couple of friends. It is a tricky hospital to get to at best.
Dave is all alone. His parents are in Louisiana and cannot afford the trip up, as they have considered all options. His brother is his best friend and in the same position as his parents.
If we, together can throw in $5., $10., $20. We can get a ticket for his brother in no time or at least one of his parents.
As Dave has no insurance, I imagine the possibility of considerable hospital bills.
THE WORST PART IS:
Dave's parents cannot get any information from the hospital, because they cannot confirm over the phone who they are AND the Doctor is either not getting the message or simply not returning the call.
Dave seems to be recovering well, heavily sedated, full function of all extremities, a little weak on the left. (I only know this because I happened to be there when the physical therapist was in)
He was in wet sheets ("It's only IV fluid," they said) when I came in and it took a while for anyone to respond.
He had a syringe mark with the line drawn around the puncture and the swelling, as if there was a reaction he had they were monitoring.
