As we all know, the Chicago restaurant industry has been severely impacted by the spread of COVID-19. While we thank Gov. Pritzker for his bold actions in helping to eradicate the spread of the virus, we here at Longman & Eagle are left facing a very serious adjustment to our livelihoods.
It takes a small village to run our restaurant, it's a place that barely sleeps. We only close 7 hours a day, and the building is rarely empty. At least one member of our tireless staff is almost always occupying a space in order to prep, clean, count, or fix something at any given time even though we're technically closed for business.
And that is what's brought us here. With a furloughed staff of roughly 50 people we're seeking donations in order to ease the weeks of unemployment. And as a consolation, we would love to offer the following for match donations. (Please e-mail [email redacted] for your gift preference if applicable)
$100 - Coozie, t-shirt (choose from 2 designs), enamel pin set!
$200 - Bottle of our Maker's Private Select 2017!
$250 - Bottle of our Peerless Rye Cask Strength Single Barrel, OR Belle Meade Cask Strength Sherry Finish!
$500 - One night's stay in Room 55 (the baller one) in our Inn!
$1000 - A personal guided whiskey tasting by one of our whiskey experts for up to 5 people!
$5000 - Rent out our OSB! Private event with light snacks and pre-set drink menu!
All of the earnings from this gofundme will go to the ENTIRE staff here at L&E. Once we're back up and running we will get to the gifts for donations ASAP, just let us get our legs underneath us.
And on behalf of all the cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, bar backs, innkeepers, bartenders, hosts, door guys, and back waiters we thank you for your donation. We can't wait to get back to doing what we love, eating, sleeping, and whiskey-ing. But most importantly, hanging with you guys.
