80km for DCH and ERUK in honour of Mason & Charlie

Maddison who turned 10 in December is running 50 miles over a month in memory of Mason and Charlie, two special and brave boys that will forever stay in the hearts of many.
All funds raised will be equally split to the Kingfisher ward at DCH and Epilepsy research u.k. These were chosen by their amazing parents Ellie and Alex and causes that are close to their hearts, any donation would be really appreciated. It makes a big difference to these wonderful charities, Maddison is hoping to raise £500, I hope she does it and more.
We will update with regular photos, good luck M.j. DCH also looked after my nephew when he also lost his battle and they saved my nephews life in 2017 when his heart stopped in the town centre. This charity really does mean a lot.

The staff on kingfisher have turned into family, and mason even though was always there when something was wrong he loved the staff! the nurses loved him too, and still remain in contact. We were lucky to have been able to spend masons last week in their palliative care on kingfisher ward surrounded by such amazing NHS staff
I think any parent would appreciate the work kingfisher do, let’s hope no one has to witness it but they are truly amazing and I know will appreciate every single penny raised xxx
Maddison is raising money for KINGFISHER WARD at DCH in memory of dear mason.
As parents we rely heavily on the children’s ward at DCH whenever our babies get ill. As a family we will forever be grateful for the amazing work the staff on the ward did for us and mason. We spent so much time on the ward for blood and platelet transfusions, stays due to mason being neutropenic and having a high temp, chemo administration.
From the cleaners, to the play therapists to the doctors, nurses and consultants they have turned into an extended family for us, still reaching out to make sure we are coping ok.
Janine, Colin, Connor and Maddison have always been a second family to me. A family who will do anything they can for anyone, completely selfless and with so much love to give they are truly amazing people.
Maddison, good luck! And thank you so much to you all.

Thank you so much Maddison for doing this for our boys, these are both wonderful charities that are close to my heart, Charlie Bear spent much time at The Kingfisher ward, the NHS staff care so well for our children and I’m glad that the money shared will go to them, so they can continue their crucial and vital work at DCH.
Charlie now has a memorial fund at Epilepsy Research UK, this will be the first fundraiser launched since it has been set up, I know the team will be most grateful for any donations made so they can continue to find, treatments, breakthroughs and prevention of Epilepsy through pioneering clinical research.
