Drew's "Bucks for BADA" Campaign
Hey Everyone! My name is Andrew Montgomery Coleman, and I'm currently a sophomore Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Theatre major at North Carolina A&T State University.
Since I was a child I always knew I wanted to be a performer.
By my senior year of high school I knew what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go, and most importantly, who I wanted to be. My plans to attend a conservatory proved too expensive for my family. What I didn't realize was that a little over an hour away in Greensboro, North Carolina, I would be recruited to join a theatre that has given me so many opportunities to grow both as an artist and a person. This year, I was blessed enough to be nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival "Best Actor" Award for my portrayal of Turnbo in our Fall 2013 Production of Jitney. In February of 2014, I competed against 250 other nominees in the Southeastern US (Region IV) and I was fortunate enough to make it to semifinals, the top 32, and then the final round, the top 16.
When I got the call that I won the National Partners of the American Theatre Classical Acting Award...I was floored.
Studying abroad in the UK has always been a dream of mine, one I thought would be impossible. But I am proud to announce that I have been accepted into the British American Drama Academy Midsummer in Oxford Program. It is an incredible honor, as 90 students are selected to attend from undergraduate and graduate students from institutions like Yale and Julliard. I will be studying both classical and contemporary theatre from July 11th - August 10th at Magdalen College in Oxford. To name a few BADA great alumni Paul Rudd, and Orlando Bloom have made successful careers from this program.
In order to achieve this next level of success, I will need your love, prayers, and financial contributions to help me make this dream a reality.Tuition is $3960 and $2990 for Accomodations (room and board). This totals to roughly $7000, not including travel. The Tuition payment is due by April 30th, and the Accomodation Fee is due by May 15th. My family is supplying as much assistance as possible, but I will need yours as well to make this happen.
