In Loving Memory of Van Buren Fowler
Donation protected
On March 8th the music world suffered a tragic loss. James van Buren Fowler Jr passed away suddenly (and peacefully) in his sleep. For those of us who knew him personally, and those who knew him through his music, the loss has been profound.
From starting out as a guitar tech for Kansas to playing sold out shows with Drivin' N Cryin', Buren became a fixture of the Atlanta music scene. Despite all this he remained humble and kind. He is remembered not just for his fame but for the impression he left on everyone he met. Friends and fans have all described him as a "gentle soul." Buren was a teacher, a mentor, a dedicated husband and father, and a true friend.
Buren's health steadily declined over the past few years and, unfortunately, he had no insurance. His wife, Paula, spent every minute of every day caring for him, receiving no financial assistance whatsoever. Buren's sudden death has left the family in serious need. So I'm reaching out on her behalf. There are endless medical bills, funeral costs, and Buren needs a headstone at his burial site.
Buren gave so much to so many and asked for nothing in return. He deserves a proper memorial. It would mean so much to my mum. I know my stepdad is hearing all the kind words and prayers that have been given. God bless and thank you!
