In a cruel twist of fate, Jenny was diagnosed with cancer last year and has fought bravely and valiantly against the disease. Jenny was discharged from hospital on the 13th September 2018 and sent home for palliative care. With no dedicated palliative care facility on the central coast, Amanda took on the role of caring for Jenny 24/7 in her final weeks. The goal of this campaign is to allow Amanda to take time off from work without having the burden of meeting her family's living expenses while caring for Jenny around the clock. The money will be used to cover Amanda and her family's living expenses (rent, food, car, utilities) while she cares for Jenny and takes unpaid leave. Amanda is the sole breadwinner of the family and to have to make the choice between caring for her mother or going to work to earn money to support the family is a decision no one should have to make when a loved one only has a matter of weeks left on this earth.
Update....Jenny passed away peacefully at home on 29th September 2018. A beloved mother, grandmother, auntie, and sister. Beautiful, hilarious, saucy, truth speaking Jenny you will be dearly missed.
Amanda, you have shown us all what it looks like to walk someone so precious to the final doorway with such grace and gentleness. Thank you for your shining example of love and devotion.
Heartfelt thanks for the many generous donations and loving messages received on this page ❤️
