Amelia Needs Mommy and Daddy Near

Back Story:
During a routine prenatal appointment, Amelia was showing signs of distress when the doctor was listening to her heart rate. Her mommy Amanda Critchfield was sent over to the hospital to have a Fetal Non-Stress Test done. The results of that test proved that Amelia was distressed. Amanda was then sent to get an ultrasound of Amelia to see what could be the matter. The results that came back were grim. Amelia was not moving, she was down to having only 20% of the amniotic fluid needed and she was in the 2% for her size at her gestational age of 32 weeks. Amanda was sent via ambulance to Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington the following morning after continuous fetal monitering all night. Once admitted to Swedish, Amanda was again put through all the same tests; an NST and ultrasound gave the doctors the same results in Seattle as they did in Port Angeles. Amanda was told by a nurse that "Your chances for an emergency cesearian just increased to 100%" and she wasn't kidding. Amelia's daddy Trenton Critchfield was dressed in scrubs and Amanda was prepped for surgery immediately.

Happy Birthday!
Amelia Marie Critchfield was born on March 21st, 2014. She weighed 2 pounds 10.4 ounces and was 15 3/4 inches long. She was 8 weeks premature and in the 2% in size for her gestational age. She has a head full of hair, a beautiful face and is very determined to prove to everyone she is older than she looks. She has been called "the rockstar baby" and "the miracle baby" by her doctors.

Amelia Needs Mommy and Daddy Near:
Trenton and Amanda Critchfield live 2.5 hours away from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit their little girl has to call home for an undetermined amount of time. Trenton has had to return to work and travels back to see his little Amelia every weekend. Amanda is staying in Seattle to be near Amelia until she can come home should financial reasons allow. The cost of lodging, transportation, food and medical necessities have been the biggest worries for these new parents. It is so important that Amelia get her mother and father's touch, love and support everyday of her recovery. Financial support to bridge the gap is the goal of this fundraiser. Every little bit helps Amelia have her mommy and daddy stay close by.
