By now all of you knows the loss of our great friend Silvio Gentile,
Silvio was born in Napoli, Italy and joined the Carnival family in 2002. He started his career with Carnival Cruise Line onboard the ships as a Deck Officer, eventually rising to the level of Safety Officer. He worked under many Captains who valued his dedication and thoughtfulness, as well as his sense of humor and his easy way of making everyone feel happy. He moved shore side in April 2012 as Shipboard HR Manager and was promoted to his most recent position of Director, Scheduling and Compliance for Marine and Hotel in January 2018. In this position, he demonstrated the qualities of a great leader and was well respected by all who knew him. During this time he provided unique support and help to many people both shipboard and shore side.
Silvio was very proud of his shipboard background and will be fondly remembered as a true Officer.
Silvio leaves behind his wife Nathinee, and an 11-year-old daughter Gioia. Silvio was really proud of Gioia, of her studies results as one of the best in her school.
While we are confident that Silvio is in peace in heaven, his sudden death brought pain and sadness to his family.
Silvio's friends created this fund to help his family to cover any immediate costs and unforeseen future expenses in providing for his child.
