Jesse Gillespy -Mulkern MD Van project

I would like to introduce you to my nephew Jesse Gillespy.Jesse  is 10 years old and loves in Stratford Connecticut. He is a fun loving innocent boy who loves the NY Giants. Jesse had dreams to play sports but he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 4 years old. Jesse has gradually gotten weaker and gained weight due to the medicine he is on to save muscle. Jesse has since been confined to a wheel chair almost 100 percent of the time but he still stays mentally strong and in good spirits .Everyday he shows his strong will by fighting to stand and walk on his own as much as he can. Jesse lives with his mom and brothers in a second floor apartment. Jesse cannot walk up stairs so he has to be carried by either his mom, brothers or other family member.  Due to being on the second floor Jesse does not get to go outside much. His mother is currently looking for a first floor apartment which would make life easier for Jesse allowing him outside access. Since Jesse spends most of his time in a wheel chair his chair must be with him at all times which would require a handicapped access vehicle. His mother does not have this kind of vehicle nor have the available funds to purchase one since they can be very expensive . His mother or one of his brothers have to lift him in and out of the vehicle every time Jesse needs to go somewhere. This is very hard on Jesse both physically and mentally.  Sara,Jesse's mom is a single mother trying to support Jesse and his brothers. Trying save funds for a handicapped van has been very challenging with little luck so far. I believe once the van is accomplished then Jesses's mother can work on finding a more suitable place to live that would make Jesse's life easier.
