Send Brooke to Brevard 2014

I have been holding my breath for the past month as I anxiously waited to hear if I was accepted to Brevard Music Center for 2014.  Finally, I was given the green light and was accepted to study piano at Brevard for THE FULL SUMMER SESSION with a partial scholarship!!  Last year I was a bit unsure about going and nervous as well. This year, however, I am excited, thrilled and ready to go!! I can't quite describe how much I learned last year.  I went to Brevard not really knowing what to expect musically, but returned with a renewed vigor for practicing and a new love of music in general. I learned HOW to practice WELL when I was there and also how to practice for longer periods of time.  My repertoire has since been much more challenging but also lots of fun.  I am enjoying the challenge through and through.  While at Brevard, I gained a new appreciation for orchestral music and am now a regular Virginia symphony concert attender.  I know that these big, wonderful changes happened because of my time at Brevard.  I loved being immersed in a community of young musicians that strive for excellence and are constantly learning from each other musically.  The campus is truly beautiful and the daily concerts are inspiring. My time at Brevard most definately is the reason for my HUGE growth in my life as a musican as well as a person.   
When I came back from Brevard last summer, I was (and continue to be) motivated!!  I practiced hard all school year and entered the Chesapeake ArtsAlive! Competion in which I placed first in the piano division as well as first place overall- winning $1,000.00!! Next, I entered the Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt and won first place winning a total of $400.00, as well as the opportunity to compete in the next stage of competition in Alexandria, VA on April 26th.  Due to my performance at the Talent Hunt, I have also been contacted by the Zeiders American Dream Theater to audition for their production. Amidst all of this excitement, I have also jumped THREE theory levels as well as FIVE sight reading levels!!! I recieved my third Double Superior in the Federation Festival which has allowed me to move onto another piano competition in April. I have continued in the Virginia Children's Chorus, started working at Chick-fil-A (which I LOVE), and continued taking my high school classes at Tidewater Community College.  I have maintained a 4.11 GPA and was asked to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at TCC. I also auditioned for and was accepted for the second time to sing with the Virginia Chorale's Young Singer's Project. Whew, it has been a busy year, but my time at Brevard Music Center REALLY encouraged me in my music.  Which is why I want to go back.  It is truly an opportunity to grow in musical excellence! I am planning to post my audition pieces from this year so you can hear a little bit of what I have been up to:)
While I am really excited and encouraged about this summer at Brevard,  I still have to get there:)  I need to raise quite a bit of money from people willing help me continue to reach my goals.  Please, please please consider donating to this fund.  Here is a breakdown of the financial situation:
