Raising funds for Angela to study abroad

Hello everyone! My name is Anthony Angela, I am a 23 years old dancer and performing artist from Nigeria. While I’m not dancing, I like to bake cakes. If you would have known me personally, you probably already got an idea how long I’ve been dreaming of studying dance professionally. Incase you don’t know me, I’m glad you somehow made it here.

I got selected as one of the students to study dance professionally at the Flying Steps Academy in Berlin, Germany after several rounds of auditions through a computer screen. Having finally received the invitation to come take classes at the school, i’m putting everything on everything to be able to travel and cover my study fees. Being a dance artist from Nigeria with big dreams is difficult. The visa procedure is lengthy and expensive and upholds requirements that I currently don’t meet. What I do have is the talent and drive to become an even better dancer than I already am and receive the education that I need at this stage of my career. I only need your help to be able to cover the expenses.

This fundraising campaign is set up to raise funds to cover my for my study abroad trip this coming August/September to Germany. The education at the school will help me come a little closer to achieving my dance dreams. While I am there I will be able to study different dance techniques (things that I have so far only seen on television) and styles as well as the business aspects, enabling me to professionalize and make a career out of my passion. I want to be able to use my talent wisely and consciously and in its full effect. I want to incorporate the different styles in my repertoire. I want to be able to convey the joy that it gives me on a daily basis to those that watch me perform. This will be my first time traveling out of Nigeria, making it a challenging, new and scary experience for me, but in the end, hopefully incredibly rewarding.

TO FUND THIS TRIP

* I will be using the money I earned and saved from work in the past few months.

* I will cover some of the expenses through my baking sales.

* I’m organizing a fundraising dance class.

However, through the above mentioned efforts, I won’t be able to save up enough for my trip, nor enough to become eligible for a visa. My goals is to raise a total sum of 7million naira. This amount will cover for the visa, travel insurance, flight, my accommodation and living expenses.

Therefore, I’m sincerely asking you if you could donate a small amount to enable me to follow my dreams. Your contribution will go a long way and I am excited about this once in a lifetime chance to be able to grow as a dancer.
