Anyone who knows 26 year old Tracy Malkofsky knows she is truly an angel on earth. She lives her life with a passion for kindness, family and friends. Tracy was diagnosed with an aggressive and cancerous brain tumor when she was 12 years old. With surgery and radiation treatment, the tumor was removed. Chances were high the tumor would return quickly, but for thirteen years Tracy had proved her doctors wrong. Unfortunately, in the fall of 2012, a routine MRI showed that the tumor returned. Surgery, chemotherapy and radiation removed the tumor, but it came back less than a year later. Just several months ago, Tracy underwent another brain surgery and a round of chemo, but the tumor has once again returned. At this point, surgery is no longer an option and Tracy does not meet the current clinical trial criteria and is now going on to hospice care.
Throughout her illness Tracy has never lost her sense of self. She has been so strong and has always put the thoughts and needs of others before hers. But, the cost of medical bills, trips back and forth to Boston, medication as well as trying to maintain at home care is very difficult. Her family, Irwin, Carol, Adrienne, Grammy Lucy Bennett and baby Ryan, want very much to continue to be by Tracy's side as she fights this battle. Any contribution will help the family provide the care Tracy needs and will allow them to stay with Tracy as she enters hospice care. Thank you all so much!
