Donate to the lemurs in Madagascar!
About Our Project
The foundations of our project are our belief in:
- the positive future of humans' relationship with the environment
- our own ability to be a force for change amidst an evolving global society
- the importance of lemurs as a part of a vibrant ecosystem in Madagascar and the international environmental scene
- animals being able to remain in their natural habitats and avoiding captivity when possible
We are putting these beliefs into action by donating funds to the Lemur Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization doing work in Madagascar to protect lemurs. Their current programs are taking place in the Anjanaharibe-Sud Special Reserve, in northeastern Madagascar.
We are channeling our funds through the Lemur Conservation Foundation to aid with :
- the rehabilitation of the lemurs' habitat (disrupted by illegal mining and logging)
- the expansion of the reserve by 30,000 acres by laying down boundary panels
- the development of eco-friendly infrastructure within the reserve (Eco-tourism for the reserve will lead to more funding to enlarge the reserve, hire rangers to protect the land, and make the reserve better known to the local and global community.)
About Our Event
In addition to collecting donations, we are holding a fundraiser event in October. Donations will be collected there amidst fun activities like a documentary, film, crafts, food, and an exciting auction!
The event is on October 10th at 11am at Hamilton Lakes Clubhouse (800 Montpelier Dr., Greensboro NC) for anyone who is interested in buying a ticket and coming!
About Us
Hey everyone! We are seniors at Grimsley High School. We are both passionate about lemurs and the environment as a whole. Our involvement in our community has led us to organize our "Aid For Lemurs" Project. Essentially we desire to raise funds for lemurs, an endangered species of primates native to Madagascar. We accept donations of any amount and would love your support!

The minimum donation amount is $5 for GoFundMe. There is no fee for making a donation through GoFundMe.
