My story,
In October 2013, I started getting sick. I started having excruciating pain coming from the right side of my abdomen after eating or drinking anything. Over the course of the next year, I have been continuously in and out of hospitals. Unable to eat or drink anything, I lost a lot of weight. Local hospitals wanted to give up and put in a feeding tube, but I wanted to keep fighting. In July 2014, after living in pain and hardly being able to eat or drink for seven months, I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota to seek further help. After numerous tests and several trips back to the Mayo Clinic, It was determined that I have Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome. This a very rare disease where my celiac artery (artery that is a vital part of the stomach) is narrowing which causes extreme pain and the inability for my internal organs to function properly. The doctors have determined my only option is surgery to repair this artery. As you may have guessed by now, this is a very specialized type of surgery and I have been unable to locate anyone locally who has done this with any type of success. My best option is to go back to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota to see if there is a doctor there who can help me. This has become very costly (as you can imagine) for myself, as well as my family. I have depleted all of my personal savings, as well as my parent’s savings and their retirement. I have always been a very private person and this disease has consumed the last year of my life. I am unable to hold a job, and the relationships with my friends and family have suffered tremendously. I am asking for you to share my story with your friends, family, acquaintances, co-workers and anyone else who may be able to help. It is very hard for me to ask for any type of help but I am running out of options. Anything you can do, whether it is financial or just a prayer would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to getting my life back!! Thank you in advance for your help. I appreciate it so much.
