My Mom is Fighting Cancer and MS

As some of you may know my beautiful mom, Linda, who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years was recently diagnosed with advanced Cancer, meaning it will not go away, but it CAN be managed with treatment. She is only 63 years old. I am reaching out to you in this critical time of need to ask for your help. Because of the MS she has not been able to work since I was little... she never qualified for medical insurance and does not qualify for Medicare for another 18 months. After much research and with the introduction of Obamacare, the "affordable" care that she does qualify for is $824 a month but coverage does not begin until May. My daddy is a retired firefighter, having served as a first responder for over 20 years in Fairfax County, VA before having to retire on disability. They live on a fixed income. My mom needs help now. She was in the hospital for 9 days without insurance coverage and is now seeing an oncologist -- all of which is at out of pocket expense until insurance starts. Being on a fixed income has its own challenges... Being on a fixed income and finding ways to manage doctors appointments and treatments is overwhelming and stressful for my dad when his focus needs to be on his own health and on taking care of my mom. If you are able to help, any amount helps lift burden and stress during a time when focus needs to be on love and emotional support in managing the advanced cancer with MS.
