Katie's Cure

Hi. My name is Katie. I have Graves Disease. Its a thyroid disorder that wreaks havoc on my hormones, my heart and my eyes. My eyes are literally bulging out of my head. I've been dealing with this condition for the past two years.

My doctors all tell me that my condition is incurable. I don't believe that. I believe they are ingnoring the root causes of my disease. I have been to a lot of different specialists and spent thousands of dollars and treatment and surgeries.

I've had portions of my eye sockets removed to help my eyes. I've had a little improvement, but it caused a lazy eye that now must also be corrected. And now my doctor also wants to remove my thyroid and put me on drugs for the rest of my life. I've already gained 50 pounds through all these treatments and having my thyroid removed will only make that number increase, and increase my chances for many other adverse health conditions as well.

I've spent a lot of time researching and I believe my doctors are wrong when they say i'm incurable. The better part is, I found a doctor who believes it too. I'm very excited to start this new treatment. Its a 6 month plan with a lot of one-on-one care.  I've already worked out financing for part of the treatment, but have no way to finance the rest.

$5000 will cover the one-on-one care, all the supplements and tests for the next six months.

Why am I asking you all to help me out? I have been sick pretty much since my little girl could remember. I want to be the best role model possible for my kid and that includes saying "YES I CAN!" when everyone tells you it's not possible.

I have also started writing my story. I hope to publish it when this is all done, so I can help others who refuse to stay sick forever. In order to do that I need to complete my treatment. . . . .
