Help Simba Beat Cancer

Hi everyone, meet Simba!
Simba is 3.5 years young, and enjoys pets, scratches, and laying on top of us.
A few months ago, we had noticed a tumor on Simba’s zygomatic arch, cheek, and took him into the vet. After a fine needle aspiration which ruled it out a big bite, we decided to have it removed.
Although we had gotten it removed, it ended up growing back within weeks. We had received news that the tumor had multiple aggressive cancer cells, and after biopsy, they were not able to get full margins and referred us to K-State Veterinary Hospital and the oncologists there.
We had consulted and were given two options, either go for full margin removal which included his eye, or partial margins and radiation. We decided to try to tackle this thing head on, as a scan had determined it hasn’t metastasized yet.
Simba’s surgery went well, and he has recovered very well. We took him to get his stitches removed today and received both good and bad news.
The good old news was that the patch over the removed tissue is healing very well, and his hair has started to grow back.
Next was the bad news. Even though they were able to get complete margins on the surface, they were not able to get complete margins depth wise.
With this news, surgery again is no longer feasible, due to the amount of tissue already removed. Our next step is radiation. While we want to move forward with this to allow Simba to live a long and healthy life, we are unfortunately with held financially. We are required to pay 60% up front, and the last 40% after all is done, and with radiation therapy estimated at $5,000 and already spending up to $4,500 on his surgeries to date are just coming to a hard decision.
I personally do not expect a lot from this, but our family is grateful for whatever happens using this page. We are thankful for the support so far, and hope to be able to extend Simba’s life past cancer. All funds donated to this will be put to any costs associated to Simba’s radiation therapy and bettering his pirate life.
