What would your life be like if you suddenly lost your home and everything you owned to a fire?
Wayne and Virginia Conner are now learning what that's like.
Wayne is a Vietnam Vet as well as an elder at his church. He also happens to be fighting Parkinson's. Virginia stays busy taking care of him, her live-in mother who is battling Alzheimer's, and taking care of their teenage grandson Brynnen, a student at Topsail High School. With the health issues this family is facing, they stay busy enough travelling back and forth to doctors. But they weren't ready for what would come next.

On the morning March 27th, 2014 Wayne called Virginia at a doctor's appointment to let her know that their house was engulfed in flames.
Friends and family quickly rushed to their side in their front yard in Hampstead, NC as firefighters tried to do all they could to save their home. What they were able to save: some coveted musical instruments, their Bibles, Wayne's military medals, and maybe a few other odds and ends.

Everything else is lost.
At this time with no real permanent place to stay, taking donations of clothes or other things is difficult. However, gift cards can be donated locally at Living Water Ministries, Junky Monkey Thrift Shop or Canines for Service, all in Wilmington, NC. Aside from that, monetary donations can be made here!
Our first goal is $50,000, just to cover material needs like clothes, linens, utensils, etc. It all adds up! As you can imagine, there is a lot more to be replaced like furniture, and even a house!
The Conners are a beautiful, strong family with big hearts. After the fire Virginia posted on Facebook, "MY GOD HAS GOT THIS!" That's the statement of someone trusting in God to pull her family through. Let's all step up and stand with her in that statement!
