Last week, Karissa and Brandon Jaloway welcomed their 2nd child, Lucia into their family. Unfortunately it wasn’t the birth they had planned and they need our help. Karissa labored for a very long time at home and was pushing for over 5 hours when Lucia’s heart tones became poor. She was transferred to the hospital, got an epidural and rested. Karissa had a C-section and Lucia ended up being in critical care due to meconium inhalation.
Lucia needed to be resuscitated and she is now intubated with a lot of lines in her. They had to transfer Lucia to a children's hospital to receive higher critical care.
The Jaloways need to stay at a hotel to be near their precious Lucia. These funds will help them with hotel costs, food, and child care for their 1 year old Quinn.
Karissa is my best friend and I know they are so very grateful for your generosity.

I am overwhelmed and full of gratitude from the generosity of you all! Thank you ever so much for your giving hearts during our time of need.
We reached our goal and no longer need your financial support but will welcome your prayers for a speedy recovery! Our beautiful little Lucia is now about 6 days old and keeps surpassing the Dr.'s expectations! She has been extubated and today just graduated to normal nasal cannula!!! She also has had her central and arterial line removed. Her respirations (how many times she breaths a minute) are all over the place but will get better as her lungs continue to heal. She is no longer on IV nutrition but still has her NG tube to help when she's too weak for oral intake. She just started oral feeds yesterday and has been a champ! They're going slowly but she's progressing! She continues to gain weight despite all she's been through and weighs over 9 lbs now! They're estimating she'll be here another week or two depending on oxygen weaning and oral intake. But it feels like we are out of the water now and just healing!
