A parents worst nightmare....On Tuesday March 25th 2014, baby Aryana was 2 weeks old and had taken her first ferry ride to BC's children's hospital for some tests. Her parents were told that she would have to have open heart surgery to correct a defect called Truncus Arteriosis. The next day she made it through surgery and a few hours later her heart stopped, she was rescued and placed on life support. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her. This has all happened too fast for this young family of 4 from Vancouver Island and expenses have already started to add up. The money raised will help them through this tough time, and alleviate the extra stress they do not need while their precious little girl is fighting for her life. Update: April 11th Today Aryana is one month old! She has already spent more than half of her little life in hospital. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: We (Chris and Claire) have started learning all the stuff we need to know in order to take our little girl home! She will still need lots of care, even more equipment than most newborns, more appointments, and more surgeries. But for the time being we can begin to resume our lives, with a new version of "normal". We cannot thank everyone enough for their continued love, support and prayers. ♥♥♥
