Larry and Roxanne Want to Adopt

Donation protected
Hello All,

First, thank you for stopping by. We hope you take a minute and read about our journey and are moved to help us to realize our dream of growing our family. Our adoption story begins in 2007 when we had hopes of hearing the pitter-patter of little feet. I was pregnant and would be expecting our first child the next spring. Our dreams were shattered twenty-eight weeks later when our lovely daughter passed away in our arms at two days old. The next several months were a blur of sadness, tears, and heartache. The idea of another child was far from our minds as our hearts and my body needed to heal but Larry and I knew that our dream for children was not over, it would just take a little longer.

When we finally made the decision to have another baby our journey took another detour - this time it was not easy. Life continued for three years with tests, doctor appointments, surgeries, and much praying. It was one autumn day, when we were enjoying the Highwood Pumpkin Festival that it became very clear; watching families push strollers and carve pumpkins made me realize that through adoption that could be us. That is the day that I made the decision that adoption could be the path that would lead us to our dream. Larry had secretly been hoping that I would reach the same conclusion as he already had: that our baby would not grow in my belly but in our hearts.

And here we are. Since that day, Larry finished his obligation to the U.S. Navy, retired, we have moved twice, bought our first home, found steady jobs, and are finally settled. It is time that we begin in earnest to pursue our domestic adoption.  Our application is complete and our first payment of $9,000 is due very soon and we have a ways to go to meet our June deadline.  We save as much as we can, have held garage sales, had friends offer us their sales commission, sold breakfast tacos, and worked as much overtime as possible, we will work for every penny because that is the kind of people that we are but we are lagging behind and need to exhaust every possibility.  So, we are here today, asking our community to help us live our dream of completing our family.

Sincerly and with love,

Larry and Roxanne
