The Cost of Catching Up

Donation protected
I have written and rewritten this many times over the last several months, trying to word it so no one would really know how bad things have gotten and that I need help. It has taken me all of these several months to finally post this because I am a proud person who hates asking for help, but now there’s really just no choice. All of this has led to a very deep depression that I have fallen into and I’m spiraling, guys and gals.

Without going into too much detail, the last several months have been a series of falls backward for our family. Beginning with my in-and-out of hospital visits, a sudden illness leading to rapid decline and then ultimately the death of a family member, and then our main source of income drying up when my fiance had to literally take care of the family when I couldn’t.

In the last several months we have barely scraped along. It’s not living, I can tell you that. We have mostly lived off the generosity of a few close friends that helped when they could, promissory notes have been signed, we put a title loan on our only transportation (YEAH. Stupid, I know but I had to feed my kids), and I have tried to scrape any kind of a living off the craft projects I do. Even the money that I am currently TRYING to earn I can't because of what you see in THE UGLY section.

And oh, the job hunting. It’s not like we haven’t truly TRIED.

THE GOOD
Well, there’s a silver lining to all of this-- I am in the close-to-hired stages of the job seek, and my fiance just got a job that starts training in a few days.

THE BAD
While having a job you’re about to start is really wonderful and uplifting, it certainly doesn’t pay back the people we owe, the bills we need to pay, or put food in bellies.

THE UGLY
The payment on the loan for the truck is due, the rent is due, and I would like to pay off the people who have been kind enough to give me small or sizeable loans over the last few months.

Because I don’t really care for handouts and because I have lots of untapped talents, I decided to do gift levels for those who gave money. I can provide pics of stained glass examples or sketches of your tailored piece later as well. I hope you take a look and are able to give in some small way.
