Kaylee Beth's Hearing Aid Fund

This is Kaylee Beth Elliott, she's my 4 year old niece.  She was diagnosed in February of this year with EVAS, Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct Syndrome http://shar.es/BGc4G.  This is a birth defect that affects her hearing.  After several hearing screens it has been discovered that she has profound hearing loss in her right ear and recently some mild hearing loss in her left ear.  This disorder leaves her hearing very unstable and something as simple as bumping her head or jumping can lead to further loss.  She needs hearing aids and her parents (Michael and Erica Elliott) have to have the entire amount by April 23, 2014.  There insurance has declined to pay any of the amount of the hearing aids.  They have explored local and state funded relief organizations and either they don't qualify because my brother-in-law has a job or they are out of funds.  This leaves them in quite the bind because they also just had their second child on February 21, 2014.




Several friends and family have said that they would be interested in giving and I felt that this may be the easiest way to have those interested in doing that.  Anything over the cost of the hearing aids will be used to continue helping pay off medical expenses and the continued cost of maintaining her new hearing aid.  We have been told that she would have to replace hearing aid batteries each week and those get expensive.


*This is the kids doing a ASL video together.  In the event Kaylee Beth does lose her hearing in her good ear it could take up to a month for her to get Cochlear Implants.
