Chance Hall's Journey

Donation protected
The family and friends of Chance Hall are uniting to raise money to help with medical costs and expenses not covered by insurance.

Chance Hall is a bright eyed, larger than life little boy who was diagnosed with Klippel-Feil syndrome at age one. He is enjoying an active and pain free childhood at this time and recently loved celebrating his costume-themed birthday party dressed as the Grinch, his favorite!

Klippel-Feil syndrome is a rare bone disorder, present at birth, characterized by the abnormal fusion of spinal bones in the neck. The disorder restricts mobility of the upper spine. It's a lifetime rare syndrome since it occurs in 1 in 42,000 births worldwide.

Chance smiled, giggled, and cooed like any happy baby but his mom and dad noticed that he had a limited range of motion in his neck. The initial diagnosis was Congenital Torticollis, which is treated with physical therapy and at-home neck stretches.

Nolan, Amy, and family relatives faithfully performed the therapeutic neck exercises but Chance's torticollis did not improve. His condition appeared to be worsening.Chance was flown from Ringgold, GA to the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania to get a second opinion on Congenital Torticollis. Dr. Dormans, who was Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics at CHOP and is now the Cheif of Pediatric Orthopedics at the Texas Children's Hospital, diagnosed Chance with Klippel-Feil syndrome.  Over time, individuals with Klippel-Feil Syndrome can develop a narrowing of the spinal canal, which can compress and damage the spinal cord. Treatment for Klippel-Feil Syndrome is symptomatic and requires surgery to relieve craniocervical instability and constriction of the spinal cord.

Chance and his parents have made  multiple visits from Georgia to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and now to the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for continued evaluations and treatments. The extended trips place a financial burden on the family due to hotel costs, flight expenses, and daily living expenditures including everyday necessities that insurance doesn't cover.

If you can find the financial resources to help Chance and our family to persevere through the challenges ahead, your generosity will be met with embracing arms and grateful hearts.More than anything we ask for prayers of healing. We do believe in miracles and continue to pray for one each and every day. We very much appreciate your support, love and prayers!

With love and thanks,
