We are humbly asking for your financial support on whatever amount you can share for our fundraising for the liver transplant of our baby, Miguel.
Our 8-month-old boy's struggle started last October 28 when he had to undergo brain surgery due to intercranial bleeding. He was in the neonatal ICU for 13 long days; 13 days which he bravely fought through and strongly endured despite the agonizing pain. But just when we thought that that would be the last of his suffering, 2 weeks ago we received the most heartbreaking news: he was diagnosed with biliary atresia.

But just when we thought that that would be the last of his suffering, 2 weeks ago we received the most heartbreaking news: he was diagnosed with biliary atresia.
For those who are not familiar with biliary atresia, it is "a life-threatening condition in infants in which the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not have normal openings". Bile is produced by the liver and transports the toxins out of the body, but without the ducts' openings, bile gets trapped, accumulates and causes severe liver damage. This disease is very rare and affects only 1 out of 18,000 infants.
It was the most painful day we had as parents. Never did we ever think that this will happen to our Miguel --- to us. But life must go on, and we must fight for Miguel's life.
When we feel down and exhausted, we just look at him and with just one smile, he recharges our energy and helps us move on and face the challenges that life brings.
Miguel is a fighter. We will do everything to have him back to where his health should be.
We hope you will support us and Miguel in our journey, it is certainly not what our family wants, but we will take the course as this is the hardest road we must pass.
