MINA: Mental Health Campaign

Minds In Need of Attention (MINA) was established in January, 2014 by me in memory and in advocacy of my sister's death by suicide. After her passing I have a strong passion to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health and mental health disorders. 

The funds raised here will support MINA and her programs. My goal is to help decrease mental health disorders among youth through life-skill workshops such as but not limited to stress reduction/management, financial literacy, time management, mental health literacy and emotional expression. I also speak about mental health and mental health disorders to high schools, faith groups, professional functions and community gatherings with the goal to raise mental health awareness in the community and to destigmatize mental health among individuals. My goal is also to help build resilient youth leaders by mentoring youth in leading various charitable initiatives of their choose within the community. 

$10,000 will help cover beginning costs and hopefully launch a successful continuous project leading to a community who is mentally healthy with lower deaths by suicide.
