Bring Steve home

The last six days have been the worse of the Bailey family lives. Our brother Steve Bailey has been involved in a traffic accident in Bali. He wasn't at fault. A vehicle was parked in a dangerous place on the crest of a hill. Steve collided with this car, hit the back of the vehicle then rolled into the rear winscreen. He has head injuries which have required brain surgery in Denpasar in Bali. He is currently in an induced coma after the surgery. He also had a lung operation which has complicated his recovery. He's had high temperatures which has compromised the oxygen levels to his brain. The treatment cannot continue in Bali as the hospital doesn't have the diagnostic equipment to move his rehabilitation treatment forward. Medical advice is that we need to repatriate Steve back home to Brisbane to the Brain Rehabilitation Unit at the PA Hospital as a public patient. This hospital is renowned for their treatment of brain injuries and is close to his home town of Ipswich where his parents are. The insurance company was paying for Steve's treatment and all was on track to fly him home this week. They now at the final moment have refused to pay the claim due to a technicality. The hospital is costing $2,500 a day to keep him. It's going to cost $130,000 Australian to get him home. We have exhausted every possible avenue to raise the money required to bring Steve home. If anyone is willing to donate to this we as a family would be forever grateful.
