Nolan's Asia Intern/Missions Trip 2014

Dear Friends and Family,

I want to update you on an internship and ministry opportunity I am pursuing in Eastern Asia this summer through an organization called Operation Mobilization. I will be gone through May 29th-July 9th with an established team of missionaries doing ministry in various parts of the country while also doing a short documentary on the work being done there by the missionaries there. This internship is covering requirements for both my Intercultural Studies and Film Production degrees. It is really a dream come true for me in many ways. As some of you may know, my dream is to one day be a missionary in Eastern Asia working in the film industry. For me this will be the first taste of that dream after four years of training in college. I am incredibly excited to see how God teaches me about another culture, myself, and my craft through this six week journey. (PS I cannot specifically name the country over the internet. The goals/purposes behind this trip are:
- Personal growth and enrichment. I have so much to learn about the people of this country specifically and about working cross-culturally. I will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience headlining this documentary project.

- Ministering to and serving the team already stationed in this country. I hope to humbly serve and support in daily life activities and ministry there, but primarily I will be telling their story through filmmaking.

- Trekking into lowland and mountain villages supporting and partaking in Discipleship, Evangelism, Justice, Church Planting, Relief and Development ministries while filming on location.

- Ultimately this trip is about the Kingdom of God being furthered and the people of this country coming to know Jesus Christ. This country is approximately 80% Hindu, 12% Buddhist, and only %1 Christian. The prayer is that this film will raise awareness and support for what is happening on the mission field in this area of Eastern Asia.

If you see the value of this trip I hope that you can support me and the missionary team in some way. Financially I need to raise a little over $2000 by April 13th to pay for airfare, insurance, visa, and vaccinations. I also need money in country for any expenses not covered by the missions organization. Beyond that I am personally supplementing and updating some of my video equipment to meet the needs of this project. I am currently working as a Resident Advisor at Biola University and a Staff Videographer for The Chimes newspaper to pay for school and this trip. If I can raise support for this trip, I can use more of my personal earnings toward my school bill. Anything is appreciated!

Lastly and far more important than financial support, I need your prayer. Even if you cannot support financially I ask that you would keep me in prayer over the next few months and into my internship. Pray that God would keep me and the team safe, that I would be able to tell the story of what is happening in this country excellently, and that God would provide the funds for me to go. Pray for God's will to be done among the unreached of Eastern Asia!
