Sweet friends,
A little over a month ago I got the opportunity to go to a Passion Conference where I was led in truth and worship while being challenged like never before. I came back from this with a tug in my heart that I was supposed to do something with what I had learned and what the Lord was doing in me so I started looking into different trips for this summer. I talked to my Aunt Becky who as a wife, mother of three and grandmother to eleven, is one of the most peaceful and loving people I've ever known. She spends her free time traveling to places like Nicaragua and Cambodia to minister to and rescue victims of Human Trafficking. She is truly amazing. One thing led to another and she invited me to go to Brazil for three weeks in June.
My first thoughts were all red flags full of doubt which the Lord graciously answered and calmed. He's pretty wonderful .When all was said and done, I said yes to three weeks of loving and serving people in Brazil with my Aunt and a group from Youth With a Mission, trusting that the Lord will provide the funds and prepare my heart for what's to come. June 7th I will step out in faith and be on my way to Atlanta to meet my Aunt and get on a plane bound for Brazil. We will join the group and a missionary in Rio where we will separate into groups to go out and be the hands and feet of Jesus.
There are many unkowns still but one thing the Lord has been pressing into my heart is 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment". So I'm going to keep walking. Walking in trust that He will provide and prepare and that He can use me on this journey to bring love and freedom to those trapped in darkness.
Whether you feel led to donate or agree to cover this trip in prayer, both are truly wonderful and I am forever grateful to you. Prayer is needed for provision, safety and freedom. My own personal prayer is that we would all come back exhausted but joyful from laying down every part of ourselves for these people and that chains would be broken for freedom to set in.
