Help for the Flores Family

March 21st 2014 was a sad day. 42 year old Ricky Flores had spent the day out jet boating with two other friends on Hells Canyon in Idaho. That evening the three men were on their way back to Hells Canyon Dam to finish out the day and head home to their families. The men reached Wild Sheep Rapids, and while trying to navigate their way through the treacherous rapids, there was a tragic accident and the boat went under. The other two men with Ricky were able to make it to shore and were later rescued. Unfortunately, Ricky was not that lucky, he never resurfaced after the accident. Search crews have spent the last four and a half days searching the river for any signs of Ricky. At this time they have not been able to locate Ricky or the boat that he was on. We all hold out hope that our beloved Ricky will be found alive, but as each day passes, we know the chances of finding him alive are slim.

Ricky is a Correctional Officer at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, Oregon. Anybody who came into contact with Ricky loved him; he was always willing to help others no matter the situation. He always managed to make a joke out of everything and his sense of humor and smile were contagious.

Ricky loved to fish and loved jet boating on the Snake River. But his Ultimate Love was for his family!! He devoted his life to being a loving husband and a loving father!! He did everything for his wife and kids. He made sure that he provided for his family and that their needs were met. At home his lovely wife waits to embrace the love of her life and a 6 year old boy and an 11 year old girl hope to see Daddy walk through the front door so that they can feel the warmth of his love as he holds them tight.           

This fund is being setup to help his family with any expenses that may arise. Ricky was passionate about his job, his friends and most of all his family. We are hopeful that this message reaches out to all his friends and family and his extended family that work with him at SRCI and everyone in Corrections. We would also like to include the jet boating community and anyone that loves fishing and the outdoors because these were things that Ricky was also very passionate about.
