Kenton Moore Transplant Fund

On March 25, 2014, after more than a year and a half on the transplat list, Kenton received a pancreas/kidney transplant at a hospital in Altanta, GA - some 4+ hours from their home and their nearest family and friends.
Kenton has battled diabetes since childhood. The resulting complications of high blood pressure and kidney failure necessated him being listed for transplant. His medical insurance required the family to raise funds before they would authorize his surgery. Finally, over a year and a half ago, they were given the green light. After a number of hospitalizations, Kenton was moved to the top of the list for a special single donor pancreas and kidney transplant.
The first two times they were called for transplant, the donor's organs ended up being unsuitable for transplant and they were turned around and sent home after the long trip from their home. Thankfully, the third tine was a charm and he is now on the road to recovery after surgery.
It will be necessary for the couple to remain in Atlanta (4 hours from home) for an estimated month from his surgery date. After the first week they will be staying in a hotel. Hotel room, "eating out" (in their room), laundromat facilities and gas expenses are going to add up quickly.
This fund is being set up to help the Moore family offset these costs, make up for lost wages and help cover out of pocket medical expenses. Kenton and his wife, Loriana, were married in March of 2011. They have a little boy who is not yet 3. Until Kenton reaches an acceptable level of recovery, his wife will be unable to work.
