Mission Trip to Haiti

Dear Family and Friends:
I hope that this finds you all blessed. I have some exciting news. I've been invited to go to Haiti this year for a Women's Conference with Elevateher International, a non-profit organization for women with a vision to help women find life from chaos. In this Conference I will be facilitating a few workshops on grief, emotional healing, and sexual abuse. All three topics I hold close to my heart particular for women. We will be serving the girls and women of Gressier Haiti, an area 12 miles west of Port-Au-Prince.
Haiti holds a very special place in my heart. My parents are natives. And though I was not born there my roots run deep. I have always had a desire to go back and help rebuild my beloved country with others especially after that earthquake in 2010. Many opportunities presented itself but none were the right fit until now. I am honored and humbled to participate in this Conference in an effort to address a need that is often ignored in the media. Rape, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual abuse, low-education, financial disparities are some of the issues that these women are faced with every single day.
I am looking forward to going and being with the mothers and daughters in that community to join in their struggle. My hope is to do as Isaiah 61 says: "To proclaim freedom and comfort those that are mourning." A journey like this cannot be successful without the help and support of my community. Stepping out on faith to doing this kind of work is always marked by strong forces of spiritual warfare. So I pray that you may support me by bathing this journey in prayer, that every aspect of this trip may be covered by the hands of the Holy Spirit and that lives may come to a deeper understanding of the power of Jesus Christ.
The other way you can support me on this great journey home is through your financial donations. The trip will cost $2500 which includes airfare, food, lodging, and conference fees. Your donations whether through prayer and/or financial support are much appreciated. When I go I go with a community of people in support of this great work presented before me so I go with confidence.
Through your support and donations I will be able to go and tell these girls/women that they were created on purpose for a purpose and that they are needed in our communities. We will sing, we will pray, we will mourn, and we will educate. Most of all we will be present! So please join me as I join my sisters in Haiti.
