Summary:
Hello, we are raising funds to take our 4 year old son Ryker to Panama City for a stem cell treatment. When Ryker was born he was oxygen deprived in a long induction labour.His diagnosis is severe cerebral palsy.He needs assistance in every aspect of his life. Stem cells have shown to help improve damaged brain function. We hope to see vision improvements as well as decreased muscles tone as his muscles are very spastic. Any little bit we can improve his life is very important. Thank you to everyone for their support!
Ryker was only a few minutes old here..at this point we thought everything was fine..an hour later he was having seizures and stopped breathing. Being the fighter that he is..he beat the odds and survived. His liver and kidney were also damaged from lack of oxygen. Those organs regenerate themselves and his repaired great. Sadly the brain damage was severe and the brain does not heal on its own.
Ryker will be 5 on Sept 21,2014. He is unable to say anywords, walk, or even sit unassisted. With all these challanges and frustrations Ryker faced every single day his spirits are high. He laughs from his belly when the time is right and smiles all the time. He loves watching dirtbiking and hockey on his ipad. He also goes to a regular public school twice a week for a few hours with his own aide.
Our hopes are that stem cell treatment can help get more oxygen to his brain and create new pathways for him to really excel and become as able as possible. Ever child deserves that!
