Hurricane Michael Relief Trip

Donation protected
My hometown in Northwest Florida has been devastated by Hurricane Michael. We haven’t been able to reach my dad on St. Joe Beach, and are praying he took our advice and went to a shelter. We don’t know that dad’s little house survived the storm, as he is only three miles east of the devastated town of Mexico Beach.  (UPDATE: Someone told my sister they saw him walking around the neighborhood, so that's a good sign! We just haven't been able to get a phone line to connect. Service is out for nearly everyone).

Our family is planning to head that way Monday, Oct. 15 if the county has cleared the highway for relief vehicles to get in by then,  to take them supplies in our enclosed trailers: we will take water, our tractor (if needed), food, gas, chain saw, bleach, wipes and other needs. There is no water, power, or cell service there now.

Any donation is appreciated, as we expect there to be more expense than we can manage alone.  If we cannot get through the roadways on Monday, we will stay at a friend's house in Alabama and try again on Tuesday, until we finally get in to deliver the supplies.

Anything not used in our effort to get to Mexico Beach/St. Joe Beach to help dad and neighbors will be donated to local recovery efforts at Gulf County Beaches Fire Department.   Thank you for considering helping our beloved hometown in this way.

Note: This money is going into my personal account at Southside Bank in Tyler and will be withdrawn using my debit card before we get into the area. ATMs there will not be functioning without power.
