Our Father's Memorial Service

Donation protected

Update: July 20th

It’s been a week since my dad has left us. Our world continues to turn upside down. Everything has happened so quickly, and with a blink of an eye, our dad was taken from us. We prayed, made promises to change, asked for forgiveness, but our cries were not heard. Now all we’ve got left is to plan for a beautiful ceremony for our dad who is truly the definition of selfless.

We ask that you continue to share our dad’s story. All contributions will go towards our beloved father’s ceremony. We will have night watches every Friday and Saturday until the weekend of the services. Funeral date has been set for August 6th at Legacy Funeral Home in Fridley, MN. Night watch will be held at my mom’s house. Please message my siblings and I for address if you’d like to stop by.

Thank you again to all for the continued support, love and encouragement. Our family thanks everyone from the bottom of our hearts.

UPDATE: No words can describe the pain my family and I are going through....today the heavens gained an angel and he will be watching over us....My dad is such a kind, loving, generous, and patient person and he was taken from us all too soon. Thank you to everyone who kept my dad in their thoughts and prayers and for the donations....all proceeds will go towards his service. We will forever love and miss him.

The weekend of June 17-19th was a very busy and sad weekend for our families as we were preparing funeral services for our late grandmother who had recently passed away in May 2017. A lot was going on, but we all pulled through the weekend together to make sure the services went as scheduled following with the burial that Monday June 19th.   But with a blink of an eye, our lives have turned upside down and our family is now faced with hardship.

On June 19th at approximately 3:00 a.m. my mother woke up to strange noises my father was making and quickly turned on the lights and saw him grasping for air. She quickly woke my brother up to call 911 and as scared as he was seeing my father lying in bed grasping for life, he bravely tried performing CPR until the paramedics arrived. By the time paramedics arrived, they could not find a heartbeat and immediately performed CPR and when there was still no sign of a heartbeat, the paramedics used the automated CPR machine to try and resuscitate my dad. He was brought to North Memorial Hospital where doctors worked hard for one hour to save his life. Within that one hour, his heart stopped 32 times; this was only the beginning of a horrifying and frightful week as our family waited for signs of good news, signs of hope, and signs of life.

It has been 1 ½ weeks now since our father was brought into North Memorial Hospital intensive care unit. When his heart stopped, there was lack of oxygen to his brain which caused severed and neurological brain damage and he remains in a coma state and is given less than 10% of surviving and becoming the person we knew 1 ½ weeks ago. Doctors have not yet found the cause, but we are optimistic and doing everything we can hoping he will soon come out of this.

Our father’s name is Charlie Chue, he is 51 years old and married to our mother Say Chue. They have been married for 36 years and have 7 children; 5 girls and 2 boys with ages ranging from 33 - 20. He is also a grandfather to 5 grandkids who love and adore him. Each and every day we are praying for a miracle and our hearts will not be at peace until he wakes up. He is such a fun, goofy, caring, and loving (the list never ends) husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa and son and doesn’t deserve this.

Our families and friends near and far, we cannot thank you enough for all the love, support, and prayers and keeping our father in your thoughts. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will definitely help with his hospital stay while we are by his side.
