Education For Indian Dalit Children

With thanks to the Dayamani Foundation and the University of Notre Dame Australia, I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to India in January/February 2018 to teach disadvantaged children at the Dayamani Academy.

The Dayamani Foundation is a not-for-profit charity, dedicated to "improving educational possibilities for under-privileged Dalit children living in Tenali, India." This charity was established by students at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. 

The Academy is a blessing to these students, as it ensures they have access to adequate drinking water, regular meals, and safe and secure accommodation, as well as providing them with an education, which would otherwise be unreachable for these children. The academy allows the students the opportunity to flourish and to help lead their community into a more positive future. 

A current goal of the Dayamani Foundation is to renovate housing adjacent to the Academy to re-house children in need. Currently, there are only 2 rooms for 30 children.

With your help, I will raise necessary funds to help break the poverty cycle, and ultimately develop myself into a better teacher and a more humbled citizen.  Just $50 goes a long way, offering these children a month worth of supplies and educational opportunities, however every little bit counts! All funds I raise will go to the children, either via the Dayamani Foundation or by providing the children with resources.
