On August 12, 2025 Richard had to undergo an emergency 11 hour surgery to remove an Aortic Aneurysm. This has turned into a long road to recovery for him. Parts of his body went without blood for long periods of time.

Today August 13, 2025, we found out that because parts of his body went without blood flow his intestines have started to die and he will now need another surgery. Tonight they will be doing the surgery to remove the parts of his intestines that have died and then leaving him open in case they need to remove more of his intestine.

His kidneys are also not functioning properly, so they will be starting him on dialysis tonight.

His neuro exam has been good, however, today his pupils have been 2 different sizes, while this could just be related to the sedation, this is something they will be monitoring more closely.

While our dad, Richard is in the hospital, his wife Jackie will be here with him and therefore she will also be out of work. We are asking for any donations to help with hotel stays, food, and any other non-medical expenses that will incure over these next unknown number of days that dad will need to be here in Rochester.
