Let's Help Victor!

Donation protected

Victor Venegas is the kindest man I know, he is always willing to help any one in need, and now he is the one needing help.

Victor has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and bone cancer and is being treated at UCSF. He will be needing a bone marrow transplant as well. He is married, with two kids, one doing his first year at college in Washington and one going to school in Fort Bragg, she will start High School this year. They are a close and loving family.

Victor and his wife Lourdes, bought the Garden Bakery in Mendocino less than two years ago, it was his dream to own a bakery, having baked for several other bakeries and restaurants before. This business on its very first years is sustaining itself, but not yet providing them with an income. This diagnosis has put the future of their business in jeopardy, as he did all baking and managed the bakery.

His wife has now to run the business by herself in addition to caring for their daughter. In order to go visit Victor at the hospital in San Francisco, she has to close the bakery for a few days at a time which is stressing their finances. The children might have to be brought in to help.

The community and friends are doing as much as they can to help, but more is needed, and soon.  The bone marrow transplant will exceed $100,000.  That's a lot of money, but it's essential to Victor's life to have this procedure.  The costly treatment and their shrinking income, has the family struggling to survive and keep the business.

As a fellow merchant and friend, I would like to help them keep their business open and keep their kids in school.

A friend suggested this medium to bring attention to their plight, and I hope it will reach compassionate and willing people to help a very kind, hard working and loving family.

Thank you all so much.

Muchas gracias,
