Hot Springs Playground Improvements

The Hot Springs Elementary PTO is spearheading some much needed Playground rehab!Right now we are focusing on Phase 1. The red playground equipment was recently taken down, before it fell down and that has left the kids with a big empty space on the k-6 playground. The PTO had the kids vote on some equipment to replace the old play area and they have decided on a wonderful addition to their playground. It will encourage physical play, imagination and balance! The new equipment is scheduled to be installed this summer and we are working to secure the funds through outside donors. This 2nd play area is important to our kids, especially at noon recess when the entire elementary is on the playground. Please take this opportunity to donate a little or a lot to the purchase and installation of this equipment.
If you miss your chance to help out on Phase 1, do not worry, you can get in on Phase II. We are looking forward to re-surfacing the blacktop. This area is crumbling and is in need of repair and repainting. This is where the kids shoot hoops, play four square and hop-scotch, and jump rope. Years ago, the parents group had painted the states and capitols on this area and we hope to bring that back to life as well. The elementary playground is the ONLY playground in the small community of Hot Springs and is enjoyed by everyone through the summer. We appreciate any help towards this project and want to say a big THANK YOU to all of those that have contributed already!
