Missions trip to South Africa

Dear Friends and Family,
We have some very exciting news to share with you, and we pray you will be able to take part in a wonderful ministry opportunity with us. God has opened the door for us to be part of Coastal Community Church's short-term mission outreach to Badplaas, South Africa alongside Children's Cup.
Our team will be working in and ministering at the Care Points around Badplaas. We will participate in the feeding program where most children get their one meal of the day. And while walking throughout the rural community spreading the love of Jesus, we will be looking for other ways in which the Lord would have us serve the people. The trip is slated for late June "“ early July.
3.9 billion people of the world's 6.5 billion people live on less than $2 a day. We are each only one person, but if we can share the love of Jesus Christ to South Africa's poor, orphans, and widows, many of whom are dying from AIDS, or on the brink of starvation, then as Jesus remarked in Luke 10:37, if only for a brief moment of our lives we can, "Go and do the same."
Please be a prayer partner with us as we prepare our hearts for this trip. Pray that God will use us to work in the hearts and lives of the people we meet; Pray that we grow in our own Christian walk as we're exposed to what He is doing in a culture very different from our own. Please join us in praying that our team will be an effective witness for Jesus Christ. Finally, we also need your financial support. We must raise $8,600 by June 20th, the first $3,000 ($1500 each) of which is due on April 30, 2014, in order to secure our airfare. The rest of the funds will cover the cost of housing, transportation, food and ministry activities while in South Africa.

We are working hard to save/earn money by selling tickets to our friends and neighbors as well as cleaning out for a big yard sale where all the profits will go to our trip.
