Aloha family & friends,

One day, dad's (Kevin) discoloration made it vividly clear to us that something was not right. We realized it wasn't getting any better so he saw his doctor and was diagnosed with jaundice in late December 2017. After multiple follow-ups, his doctor referred him to an oncologist. The diagnosis from that visit shattered our lives. Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that spread to his liver and pancreas in January 2018. Prior to this he was in the best shape and mindset of his life. During the summer of 2017, he joined our mom (Loreen) in her journey to a healthier life and lost 35 lbs, while gaining lean muscle. Our parents pioneered our family to a healthier and happier lifestyle. He opened up to new experiences and just started a new chapter in his life as a fitness coach. Since his diagnosis, he has stayed strong and positive through all the doctors visits, procedures, and tests.

On March 7th, he had surgery to insert a metal stent to help his liver function normally and reduce the jaundice.  As of today, March 12th, he has not been discharged from the hospital because of post-op complications but we are glad the doctors and nurses are taking extra precaution to ensure he comes home when his body is ready. He has health insurance but over the past couple months of tests and surgeries, we've realized how much it doesn't cover. All donations are extremely appreciated and will be used towards medical expenses! Mahalo to you all for your love and generosity!! Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses who have been his care givers!
